The Ekiti State Government through its Ministry of Education has organised extension classes for final-year Senior Secondary School students in public schools in the state.
Ekiti News reports that the State Commissioner for Education, Dr Bimpe Aderiye, said that the extension classes will keep the students busy while preparing for their examinations.
According to a statement signed by Dr. Aderiye in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the classes would begin on Friday after the Eid-el-Fitr holidays.
“The programme was arranged to give teachers undivided attention for the SS three students who are preparing for the forthcoming WASSCE examination that will commence in the first week of May 2024”, the Commissioner stated.
Dr. Aderiye said that the second term holiday for students holding between 8th April and 29th April would not affect the SS 3 students.
The Commissioner urged parents and guardians “to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the state government to keep the students busy and primed for their approaching external examinations by releasing their children and wards for the extension programme”.
